In this PS5 and internet era, it’s always good to monitor our kids’ physical activities unless you want them to turn into potato couches. TV, intent and gaming are making our kids spend hours indoors and most importantly, hate physical activities.

Here are 6 ways you can make your kids love outdoor activities.

1. Leading by Example

You can’t preach outdoor while you rarely do any outdoor activities yourself. It has to start with you. Do simple outdoor workouts and invite your kids to join you. Take long walks together. Enjoy the sun. Find a way to get him out of that sofa and make sure you also participate.

2. Do Sports Together

Another good way you introduce outdoor activities is by taking your kids for sports. Go with him or her to that football or basketball game. Make your own mini-games that you will enjoy.

3. Encourage, Don’t Force

You want them to go out but make sure it doesn’t feel like it’s a punishment. They need to enjoy the whole process so that they’ll be going out with a push.

4. Reward them when they do

It doesn’t have to be a big thing, but always make sure you acknowledge their effort for giving it a try. Do it until they fully start enjoying it.

5. Buy outdoor gadgets

This should start at an early age. Instead of pilling up indoor toys for your kids, go for outdoor toys and fun gadgets such as Kite, bicycle, simple gardening tools etc that will pull them away from the house.

6. Host a kids party

You can’t do this every day but you can do it often. Invite other kids over and let them play outside.
