The Minister of Sports, Ababu Namwamba, extended his support to 20-year-old athlete Milka Shikokoti Menjo, who gained attention for her resilient performance during the Tinderet Barngetuny Mountain Run this month.
Running shirtless on challenging terrains, Menjo’s dedication impressed Namwamba, prompting him to visit her in Cherondo, a village in Tinderet, Nandi County.
Accompanied by the area Member of Parliament, Julius Melly, Namwamba expressed admiration for Menjo’s determination and gifted her and her husband complete training kits, including sports shoes. Additionally, he provided them with Ksh200,000 and assistance with shopping.
During the visit on Thursday, January 18, Namwamba commended Menjo’s display as a true demonstration of resilience and determination from a young Kenyan striving to earn a living.
