WWE legend John Cena has revealed that he regrets his feud with Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock.
The two locked horns in heated fights and fought in Wrestlemania’s main events in 2012 and 2013. The wrestler turn actor admitted in a Q&A session that their beef sprawled out of control and became personal.
“I said some things that were less than nice. He said some things that were less than nice,” he said.
“And I can assure you, in our line of work there is a grey area where imagination becomes very real and we were right in the sweet spot of that grey area, each watching the other’s every move and not too happy with the other party.”
Cena went on to say that he regrets attacking The Rock for switching between acting and wrestling, something that has now become a norm at WWE.
“It was stupid of me. It genuinely was. That was my perspective at the time,” he said.
“For me to not be able to see Dwayne’s vision on what he wanted to do personally, and how his personal success could affect a growing global brand, that was just ignorant on my part.”
The Rock has grown into an unshakable Hollywood brand and has appeared in dozens of movies opening doors for others like Cena himself, Batista, Ric Flair among others.
Cena and The Rock are both appearing in the latest installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, F9 and Cena is thanking no one but The Rock for that.
“I’m very thankful to Dwayne Johnson,” said Cena.
“His success has gotten me a lot of opportunities that I’m extremely thankful for, and certainly wouldn’t have without him.”
