There’s a hidden meaning behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent photo of them playing chess and fans have finally managed to crack it.
We never get a chance to see the pair together a lot unless it’s on the pitch or during award ceremonies.
The two shared the image on their social media pages with the caption: “Victory is a State of Mind. A long tradition of crafting trunks photographed by @annieleibovitz for @louisvuitton.”
This left many believing it was in an effort to promote Louis Vuitton but fans now believe the two were also talking about how might win the World Cup this time round.
The ‘LV’ briefcase was part of the 2018 World Cup in Russia and saw the trophy presented in it for the opening fixture and final.
The fact they are playing chess on the briefcase that holds the World Cup essentially represents the battle to cement their place as the greatest of all time.
The photo has been liked over 24 million times on social media following the posting.
