The NBA has unveiled 6 new trophies all named after NBA legends which will be presented to the end-of-season Kia Performance Award winners.
According to the NBA commissioner, the trophies represent the most impactful players in the league’s history.
“Our new collection of trophies celebrates some of the greatest and most impactful players in the history of the NBA,” said Adam Silver.
“As we recognize the league’s top performers each season, we also pay tribute to the legends who embody these prestigious awards.”
The best player in the league will receive a Michael Jordan trophy, while the best defender will receive a trophy named after Hakeem Olajuwon.
The best Rookie will receive the Wilt Chamberlian Trophy, Sixth Man of Year will get John Havlicek trophy, George Mikan’s name will be on Most Improved Player award and Clutch of the Year award is named after Jerry West.
