The athletics community, with a heavy heart, mourns the tragic loss of Job Kiptoo, the son of Moses Tanui, in Ontario, Canada.
As reported by Nation Sport, the late Mr. Kiptoo was a student at Mohawk College in Hamilton, where he had been studying for the past two years. Sadly, he fell ill and collapsed, leading to his immediate transfer to the hospital, where he, unfortunately, lost his life.

His uncle, Silas Tanui, shared that his nephew had been feeling unwell and had alerted his landlord. Despite the prompt response to get him to the hospital, he passed away during the journey.
Silas Tanui expressed deep sorrow over the loss of this young, energetic individual with a promising future.
He said, “We have lost a young, diligent man who had a bright future ahead of him. We pray for strength as we make arrangements to repatriate his body for the final rites in Kenya.”

Job Kiptoo was the third child of Tanui, and as the family grieves, burial plans are in progress, with updates to be shared as soon as the postmortem results are available.
In the world of athletics, Moses Tanui himself earned recognition by clinching the 10,000m title at the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo and securing a silver medal at the World Cross-Country Championships during the same year.
