Naomi Osaka is officially the 2021 Australian Open champion after beating Jenniffer Brady in straight sets for her fourth Grand Slam.
The 23-year old beat her rival 6-4, 6-3, in 77 minutes to claim her second Australia Open win after clinching the title in 2019.
On her way to this year’s title, Osaka had to beat some big names including Garbine Muguruza and Serena Williams in the quarter finals and semi-finals respectively.

Her win on Saturday, February 20 also marked a personal landmark as it is the first time she joined other big tennis names in being the only one to do a US Open – Australian Open double twice.
The only other tennis stars to achieve that feat were Justine Henin, Kim Clijsters and Serena Williams.
Despite falling short in her first final, Brady will be proud of herself as she put up a good fight against an extremely talented Osaka.
The first set was well poised as it was tied at 4-4 before Osaka eventually pulled away.
She also showed some character in the second set despite trailing 4-0.
It is also kind to note that Brady lost to Osaka in the 2020 US Open semi-final, but she is fast emerging as one of the stars to watch out for.
