Former Liverpool standout Fabinho was rewarded with a Rolex timepiece in recognition of his outstanding performance for Al-Ittihad over the weekend.
Having departed Anfield just a month ago in a transfer worth £40 million, Fabinho joined forces with Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante at the reigning champions of the Saudi Pro League.
Impressive Gesture at the Stadium in Jeddah
Making an impressive start to the season, the Brazilian midfielder’s contributions did not go unnoticed, catching the attention of a Saudi Arabian journalist.
A video surfaced showing Fabinho departing the stadium after his team’s commanding 3-0 victory against Al Raed.
It was during this time that he was approached by Ibrahim Al-Faryan. Al-Faryan, in a gesture of appreciation, presented the 29-year-old midfielder with a Rolex watch, to which Fabinho responded with a warm smile.
In an unforeseen turn of events, as Fabinho was walking away, he accidentally dropped the extravagant timepiece, much to his dismay.
After a quick inspection, it was evident that no harm had been done to the watch. Fabinho expressed his gratitude to the journalist before continuing on his way home.
