LEBRON James recently shared his experience of meeting NBA legend Michael Jordan for the first time, shedding light on their encounter during a podcast.
Both considered basketball icons in the Greatest of All Time debate, James, now 39 and a four-time NBA champion, reminisced about a time when Jordan, the undisputed king of basketball during his high school days, was the dominant force.
During the Uninterrupted podcast, LeBron revealed his disbelief upon meeting Jordan, stating, “When I first met Michael Jordan, it was surreal. I couldn’t believe I was standing in front of him. To me, he looked like a living legend, almost like Black Jesus. No one could convince me otherwise.”

This initial encounter with Jordan also exposed LeBron to a new dimension of the basketball world—the gym.
LeBron shared, “We were taken to the hoops in Chicago, and before the game, they mentioned, ‘Mike always likes to lift [weights].’
Walking up the stairs, I had no idea that Mike lifted before playing. I was just a high school sophomore at that time. Seeing Mike on the bench press, I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ I didn’t think he was real; you have to understand, I believed he only existed on TV. If fate had taken me that day, I would have lived an extraordinary life.”
Currently nursing an ankle injury that forced him to miss a recent game against the Clippers, LeBron James, now the leading scorer in NBA history, maintains an impressive average of 24.8 points per game this season.
