World Champion Eliud Kipchoge has urged Africans to embrace the donation of human organs to save lives.

The athlete, while speaking at a breakfast reception in Nairobi, urged Kenyans to start donating human organs because it will save lives.

“It shows that people now have a clear understanding of life and death. Where there’s life there is death and where there’s death there’s life,” said Kipchoge.

He was speaking to the topic referring to Phillip Ogola, a digital humanitarian who shocked many Kenyans after listing his organs for donation in his will.

“It’s a good move by him, it shows that Kenyans are breaking the myths and barriers of our customs and traditions,” he said.

Kipchoge was speaking in Nairobi where regional motor vehicle dealer, Isuzu East Africa rewarded him officially with a customized ride dubbed the ‘Eliud Kipchoge 1:59 Limited Special D-Max Edition’.

Ogola was among the attendees at the event and more than happy Kipchoge shared the same view as him.

“I think as Kenyans we need to have a deeper conversation on this, Kipchoge endorsing my bid is part of the process to limit the stigma associated with death and life in many African cultures,” Ogola said.
