The highly anticipated Africa Cup of Nations 2023 kicked off with a dazzling opening ceremony at the Ebimpé Alassane Ouattara Stadium, Abidjan, providing an unforgettable experience for both football enthusiasts and music lovers.
The event commenced with a lively celebration of African diversity and culture, showcasing a variety of traditional Ivorian dances and music. Performers adorned in vibrant African attire captivated the audience with a display of diverse local dances, movements, beats, and musical instruments.
The stage came alive with the soulful voices of Dadju and Tayc, representing Congolese and Cameroonian origins, respectively. Singing in both French and English, the duo added a rhythmic African touch to the spectacle.
The audience was then treated to enchanting performances by the Ivorian coupé-décalé band from Abidjan, featuring young African artists who have made waves across the continent and in France.

Renowned artists, including the Franco-Ivorian group Magic System, Nigerian sensation Yemi Alade, and Egyptian rapper Mohamed Ramadan, delivered captivating renditions of the AFCON 2023 anthem, “Akwaba.” The anthem, specially crafted for the occasion, aims to celebrate the warm hospitality of the people of Cote d’Ivoire.

These enchanting musical moments marked an epic celebration of African culture, uniting the continent through a shared passion for sports and artistic creativity.
The electrifying atmosphere of the opening ceremony, coupled with the fireworks illuminating the night sky, set the stage for the much-anticipated opening match between Côte d’Ivoire and Guinea-Bissau at 8 pm local time.

As the hosting country, Côte d’Ivoire is poised for a month-long football extravaganza, where nations will come together, compete, and create unforgettable moments in the heart of African football.
