Legendary rally driver Ken Block has died following a snowmobile accident just several kilometers from his hometown in Utah.
The professional rally driver, Gymkhana star died on Monday afternoon while riding a snowmobile up a steep slope in Wasatch County when the vehicle upended, landing on top of him, according to the local Sheriff’s office.

He died at the scene. He was 55 years old.
Block’s team Hoonigan Racing confirmed the news with a statement saying:
“It’s with our deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident today. Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband. He will be incredibly missed,” read the statement.
One of America rallying’s biggest names, Block had come closer than ever to landing his maiden domestic title in 2022, winning four from eight rounds aboard a Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC.
The 55-year-old was expected to return to the America Rally Association in the coming season.

Block began his rallying career in 2005, but it was his incredible Gymkhana YouTube videos that would really propel him to sideways stardom.
Racking up hundreds of millions of views with increasingly bonkers cars, courses and stunts, the Gymkhana videos will have helped inspire a generation of petrolheads.
