Kenya Premier League giants AFC Leopards are high flying in the league this season, and this can be largely attributed to the recent stability that was established at the club.
Since the exit of Sportpesa from the Kenyan market, top Kenyan sides have been struggling to secure sponsorships and these woes trickled down to performances on the football pitch.
Thanks to the emergence of Betsafe, however, the AFC Leopards ship is slowly steadying as they recently secured a joint sponsorship of Ksh.285 million.
The partnership deal will entail Leopards receiving KSg 40 million per year which ultimately ends the club’s reliance on the good will of fans.
The lucrative deal from Betsafe, the trading name for Bet High Kenya offered AFC enough financial muscle to smoothly run operations from paying of players to the technical bench. Matches are also being played consistently, which wasn’t the case a few years ago when financial logistics hindered some away games.
The joint partnership also benefits Gor Mahia, which is another one of Kenya’s oldest clubs.
Betsafe went for the partnership as a way of breaking into the Kenyan market as one of the big guns in sports betting.
As part of the sponsorship, the firm is committed to further the football culture in Kenya.
Collaboration with AFC Leopards will not end with the sponsorship deal as Betsafe is also looking to advance the club’s vision and overall football industry.
