During the Manchester United versus Wolves match, there was a momentary pause after a fan ran onto the field.
The fan, without thinking, ran onto the field as Wolves were pressing for an equalizer towards the end of the match.
This occurred after Raphael Varane had given Manchester United the lead. The incident took place in the 94th minute, and the fan emerged from the area where Manchester United supporters were seated in the East Stand. At that moment, Wolves had control of the ball near United’s goal.

When Scott McTominay blocked Mario Lemina’s shot, the referee, Simon Hooper, realized the situation and blew his whistle to halt the game.
The intruder even attempted to touch the ball briefly. However, as it became clear that getting to the ball was not going to happen, a chase ensued.
Eventually, with the assistance of Wolves‘ goalkeeper, Jose Sa, security managed to apprehend the fan near the halfway line.
Fans of Manchester United took to Twitter to make light of the situation, joking that the pitch invader inadvertently helped their team. Some even quipped that the invader did them a favor by momentarily disrupting the match, as Wolves were putting pressure on United late in the game.
