Brazilian retired professional footballer Ronaldinho was among several other legends that participated in this year’s Pope Francis’ foundation ‘We Play For Peace’ match in Rome.
Performed on Monday evening at the exhibition “Peace Match” in Rome, the match was dedicated to the football great Diego Maradona, who died two years ago.
The match between former and current football players of Italy and the rest of the world, which Maradona himself played in 2014 and 2015, promotes peace in the world. Pope Francis received the players in the Vatican before the match, the Spanish newspaper said.
At the Olimpico stadium, the Argentinian’s dream came true because all his children finally gathered there.
