This past weekend, Tiger, aged 47, is participating in the PNC Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando alongside his 14-year-old son, Charlie.
This marks the duo’s fourth consecutive appearance in the event, where past PGA champions team up with a family member to compete for the prize, as detailed on the event’s official website.
While fans are accustomed to witnessing Tiger and Charlie together at golfing events, there was an unexpected appearance by Tiger’s 16-year-old daughter as his official caddie on Saturday.
The PGA Tour’s Instagram account shared a video of Sam diligently cleaning and organizing Tiger’s golf clubs. Additional pictures captured the father-daughter pair driving along the golf course, sharing hugs, and engaging in conversation with Charlie.
Woods shares his two children with his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, with whom he divorced in 2010 after marrying in 2004. Despite not appearing to share her father’s passion for golf, Sam has consistently celebrated his successes and triumphs.
During the March 2022 World Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Sam delivered a speech in which she praised her father as a “fighter” and referenced his 2021 car crash.
“We didn’t know if you’d come home with two legs or not,” Sam stated, as reported by NBC Sports. “Now, you’re not only about to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but you’re standing here on your own two feet. This is why you deserve this. You’re a fighter. You’ve defied the odds every time.”
In the same speech, Sam highlighted her father’s commitment to attending her violin concerts and soccer games despite his demanding schedule.
Expressing gratitude, Tiger responded to his daughter, saying, “Crap, I just lost a bet to [Steve] Stricker that I wouldn’t cry. Thank you, Sam.”
