While it’s true about 80% of an individual’s height is determined by genetics, that doesn’t necessarily mean there’s totally nothing you can do to increase your height.

Children and teenagers can still boost their height with various remedies and diet. You can’t grow taller once you reached your maximum height. However, certain foods can help adults to maintain it by strengthening their bones and joints.

To promote your height growth you need to include plenty of both macronutrients and micronutrients to your diet. Macronutrients are fats, carbs, and proteins that provide energy for your body. Micronutrients are important vitamins and minerals that you require in smaller doses.

Also, just like there are foods that will boost your growth, there also others that limit. You should avoid the following foods:

Avoid chocolates, pastries, chips, cookies, French fries, etc. Though they may taste great, they are loaded with free sugars, trans fats, and refined carbs, which affect the health of your child. Consuming too much of processed foods inhibits nutrient absorption, which is essential for growth.
