Rafael Nadal Bemused After Drunk Fan Thoroughly Insults Him During Tennis Game

A bit too much to drink

Tennis legend Rafael Nadal was recently left in stitches by a drunk fan who hurled profanities towards him during a tennis match.

Nadal, 34, was taking on Michael Mmoh in a crunch match when he spotted a female supporter hurling all sorts of expletives at him.

While preparing to make a serve, Nadal’s ears caught the fan saying something to the effect of, “”Hurry up, you OCD f**k.”

He immediately glanced up to the crowd and it didn’t take long for him to see the lady behind the profanities.

Nadal’s reaction showed some class as he pointed to himself as if to ask whether it was he who was on the receiving end of the insults, before he burst out laughing.

At least he saw the funny side to it all.

Moments later, security intervened and ejected the woman as the game had to be paused for a few minutes.

Speaking after the game Nadal admitted the incident was bizarre but still laughable.

“Maybe she had too much gin or tequila. I don’t know,” he said.

“Honestly it was strange situation, but funny at the same time,”

The incident at the Rod Laver Arena didn’t put Nadal off, however as he quickly picked himself up and won the set.

He went on to win the game and set up a clash with Cameron Norrie on Saturday, February 13.
