Prominent smartphone brand Tecno has entered into an exciting partnership with former Kenyan international Denis Oliech and Harambee Stars defender Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma, creating a buzz among tech enthusiasts and football fans alike.
The collaboration was officially announced on Monday, following the duo’s attendance at the opening ceremony of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Denis Oliech, a revered football legend, actively participated in the Tecno AFCON Legends friendly football match in Ivory Coast, sharing the field with esteemed African football icons like Asamoah Gyan.
Taking to their social media platforms, Tecno expressed their enthusiasm, posting a photo of Dennis Oliech and declaring, “The wait is over! We’re ecstatic to announce our partnership with football legend Dennis Oliech for the Spark 20 series. It took a while, but the best things in life are worth waiting for!”

The excitement continued as Tecno unveiled their partnership with Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma, who recently joined Polish champions Rakow Czestochowa.
In their announcement, Tecno expressed gratitude for their loyal fans’ patience, stating, “Apologies for the suspense, but the time has come! Thrilled to announce our long-awaited partnership with Marcelo for the Spark 20 series. Thank you for your patience – the best is yet to come!”
This dynamic collaboration comes on the heels of Tecno’s recent partnership with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as the official and exclusive smartphone sponsor for the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. The partnership was officially solidified during a significant ceremony in Singapore on September 21, 2023.

Beyond showcasing Tecno’s dedication to supporting African football, this collaboration signifies CAF’s commitment to embracing technological advancements to elevate both the fan and player experience. The Africa Cup of Nations, a highly anticipated sporting spectacle in Africa, kicked off on January 13, 2024, in Abidjan.
