Passionate about martial arts, jiu-jitsu, and boxing, Mombasa-based actress Fatma Mohammed, renowned for her role in the latest Kenyan drama “Faithless,” is captivating audiences with her multifaceted talents.
The series, currently streaming on Showmax, features her in the dynamic character of Hope.
In an intriguing twist, Fatma unveiled that her initial acquaintance with the role was limited during the audition process. Yet, her passion for acting and storytelling motivated her to seize the challenge and wholeheartedly embody the character.

“I was thrilled and honored to be given the opportunity to narrate a story that resonates and lingers. I constantly push my creative boundaries, so this was precisely what I needed to showcase my versatility as an actor: portraying a churchgoer entwined in criminal activities – two realms entirely distinct from my identity as a Muslim woman,” she shared with Nairobi News.
However, many are unaware that beyond her on-screen prowess, Fatma finds solace in fitness and martial arts.
Resolute in response to whether she envisions herself stepping into roles that demand these skills, she candidly revealed her extensive training in martial arts, jiu-jitsu, and boxing over the years.

Career Milestones: Navigating Challenges
“Regrettably, I faced significant surgery a while back, and it left me apprehensive about rigorous training. Nevertheless, I am delighted to announce that this year marked my official return to intense training, particularly in boxing. This marks a significant stride for me, and undoubtedly, I aspire to portray the role of a resilient Muslim female boxer who defies odds and emerges victorious – an aspiration that fuels my passion.”
Jiu-jitsu, known for its self-defense techniques, grappling, ground fighting, and submission holds, adds another dimension to Fatma’s skill set, reflecting her dedication to diverse forms of athleticism.
As she poured her energy into portraying her “Faithless” character, Fatma was simultaneously navigating the intricate process of wedding planning.
“Discovering my soulmate in my 30s underscores the truth that good things take time. Balancing wedding preparations with the back-to-back shoots of ‘Faithless’ presented its challenges, but I am fortunate to have a partner who comprehends and supports my career milestones. I found myself employing wedding planner apps and orchestrating tasks through WhatsApp groups to ensure everything aligned seamlessly. Gratitude for the unwavering support of my family!”
“Faithless,” an arresting blend of crime and faith-driven drama, immerses viewers in the tale of four church members mistakenly drawn into the criminal underworld. The series unfurls as their savings initiative morphs into a money laundering operation, a gripping narrative that showcases Fatma’s versatility and dedication to her craft.
