Wendy Waeni, the 18-year-old Kenyan gymnastics prodigy, continues to demonstrate her remarkable talent as she embraces a new chapter of her life in China.

Having relocated to China, Wendy has eloquently shared her journey. Highlighting her deep passion for gymnastics as the driving force behind her decision to make this significant move.

“I embarked on a journey of over 7000 km, driven by love—love for the art of gymnastics. This love led me to bid farewell to everything and everyone in Kenya and find a new home in Beijing, China,” she revealed.

Her courageous spirit shines as she recounts her bold decision to relocate at the young age of 17, leaving her homeland behind.

Prior to her move, she had amassed numerous local and international accolades. Her exceptional talent had graced the presence of Presidents Uhuru Kenyatta, Yoweri Museveni, Paul Kagame, Mahama, and PM Cameron.

During her high school years, Wendy’s commitment to social good led her to be appointed as a UNICEF Champion for Children’s Rights Ambassador additionally her education was supported by former Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.
