A safe which was stolen from Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti’s house has been recovered but its contents were missing.
According to reports, two male offenders in black masks made away with the safe from Ancelotti’s home in Crosby, near Liverpool on Friday.
Merseyside police clarified that occupants of the house were unharmed.
Authorities further disclosed that the safe was found dumped at Runnells Lane, near Masefield Road, in Thornton.
Contents of the safe and whether Ancelotti was at home at the time of the incident was not made clear.
Despite the safe being found, no arrests have been made and police have urged anyone with information on the case to come forward.
Everton were beaten 2-0 by relegation-threatened Fulham on Sunday, February 14, barely 48 hours after the robbery incident.
The Merseyside area has been a hotspot for crime targeting football stars in recent months.
Liverpool star Fabinho’s house was burgled in 2020 as the Brazilian was busy celebrating his side’s Premier League title triumph.
Sadio Mane, another Liverpool star, also had his house burgled back in 2019 while he was out on Champions League duty.
