Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo hit another milestone, this time on the social media front, as he became the first athlete to clock 500 million followers on social media.
The 36-year old has a massive following across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and no other athlete comes close to him in terms of numbers of the different platforms.
Instagram is perhaps his most lucrative platform as Ronaldo is the most followed human there with a massive 261 million followers.
On Facebook, his page has 125 million likes and 147 million followers while on Twitter, he enjoys a following of 91 million people.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Digital Dominance and Its Impact on Income and Juventus
Interestingly enough, on Youtube, where Ronaldo has been dormant for years, he still has over a million subscribers.
As a result of his social media success, Ronaldo’s income doing sponsored posts and campaigns online earn him a higher income than as a professional athlete.
In 2020, it was estimated the father of four charged 971000 pounds for one sponsored post.
Ronaldo’s big name as a brand has also done wonders for his Juventus club. Since his arrival in 2018, Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has increased the value of revenues by around 15%.
Agnelli also enjoys a decent relationship with Cristiano and latest reports indicate he wants to tie down the current all-time goal scorer in football history with a new contract that would keep him at the club until his 38th birthday.
