A notorious gang reportedly broke into the home of Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti before they were startled by the gaffer’s daughter.
Reports indicate the gang made their way to Ancelotti’s house in Blundellsands and managed to infiltrate the property.
They were however disturbed by Ancelotti’s daughter and managed to flee before authorities were called.
From the incident, police said a safe was among the items stolen by the masked thieves.

There were rumors that Ancelotti was held at knife point by the thieves but The Echo has since reported that sources refuted the claims as false.
Witnesses further told The Echo that police were present at Ancelotti’s home for a large part of Friday evening but Police are yet to confirm it.
The full police statement read: “We are appealing for information after a safe was stolen in a burglary in Crosby on Friday evening (February 12).
“We were called at 6.35pm to a report two males had entered a property on Hall Road East at around 6.30pm.
“The offenders were described as wearing black waterproof clothing, possibly with white writing on, and black balaclavas.
“The occupants of the house were unharmed.
Ancelotti was not home at the time of the incident.
